The Department organizes regular home visits to both new refugees and asylum-seekers, as well as long-standing members of the refugee community. These visits are crucial in identifying and understanding their unique needs, challenges, and circumstances. By engaging directly with individuals and families in their living environments, the Department gains a deeper insight into their situations, enabling it to tailor its support more effectively and appropriately.

During these visits, newly arrived refugees and asylum-seekers are warmly welcomed and provided with initial guidance to help them navigate their new environment. This includes sharing important information about available services, local customs, and resources to help ease their transition. Beyond the initial reception, the Department supports their integration into the host community by offering comprehensive assistance. This may include providing essential material support such as food, clothing, and household items, as well as facilitating access to education, healthcare, and employment opportunities. Additionally, the Department works closely with local leaders and community members to foster mutual understanding and create an inclusive environment that encourages positive interactions between refugees and the host population. By addressing immediate needs and promoting long-term integration, the Department strives to empower refugees and asylum-seekers to rebuild their lives with dignity and to contribute meaningfully to the communities they join.
